A British ballet dancer who lived in Chile, she married a famous folk singer. He was murdered in the 1973 coup, so she spent the rest of her life searching for justice.

FRANCOISE DELBART, aged 93

A drama student in post-war Paris, a kiss from her boyfriend was captured by a photographer and became one of the most iconic images of the Twentieth Century.

TATJANA PATITZ, aged 56

The first German supermodel, she was the face of the 1990s, appearing on many magazine covers – but became a champion of animal rights and for ageing gracefully.

PC CARL WALKER GC, aged 88

A police constable in Blackpool. he made a heroic effort to stop an armed robbery in a jeweller’s shop, and was shot – receiving serious injuries. Another officer was killed, sparking one of the UK’s biggest manhunts.

JUANITA CASTRO, aged 90

She was the sister Fidel Castro, who seized power in Cuba, but she fell out with him and became a CIA agent, before defecting to the USA and living in exile.

COUNTESS MARGIT SZECHENYI, aged 96

A Hungarian aristocrat, supported Fascism, married a Count and indulged in big game hunting. She was an ‘Enemy of the People’, constantly resisting communism.
