Part of a showbiz family, he created some of the greatest amusement park rides in the world. He was threatened by the Mafia and stood to be mayor of Venice

BEPPE PIRODDI, aged 82

An Italian playboy in the 1960s he was part of a group known as The Four Musketeers. He had affairs with rich women and had celebrity friends, as long as connections with royals and the Mafia.

JEAN ARGLES, aged 97

She worked as an SOE operative, running agents throughout the war and deciphering codes, as her sister worked with Bletchley Park and her father was in a POW camp.

ASSUNTA ‘PUPETTA’ MARESCA, aged 86

Brought up in a Mafia family, her husband was murdered by a gang rival. She took bloody revenge, and after serving time in prison became a Mafia gang leader in her own right.

SERGIO COSTA, aged 72

The Costa family emigrated from Italy to England and started a coffee business. Sergio became CEO and turned the business into the multi-million pound generating Costa Coffee.
