The first African American female to be a Secret Service agent, protecting the President’s daughter, she suffered racism, so she resigned to become a diplomat.

ALI AHMED ASLAM, aged 77

Came to Scotland as a young man and began his own restaurant. He invented Britain’s most popular dish and was known as the Glasgow Curry King.
